Palm Springs' Vision: A Complete Bicycle Network

January 10, 2025 Community Events DDEC

The Village of Palm Springs is developing a comprehensive bicycle network to connect neighborhoods, schools, parks, and commercial centers. This connected system will serve cyclists of all ages and abilities through:

  • Protected bike lanes on major roads

  • Quiet neighborhood routes

  • Links to existing trails

  • Safe intersection designs

  • Clear wayfinding signs

  • Strategic bike parking

Priority corridors include Davis Road, Lake Worth Road, and Congress Avenue, establishing critical north-south and east-west connections. The design emphasizes physical separation from vehicles on busy streets and traffic calming on shared roads.

Implementation begins with high-impact segments near schools and community centers, expanding systematically to build a complete network. The plan follows Vision Zero principles and Complete Streets guidelines.
